Windows updates exist to keep Windows and other Microsoft software updated and they include security updates.

Unfortunately, sometimes one or more of those updates will cause a problem, ranging from serious ones preventing Windows from starting, to less serious ones like video, audio and other problems.

Recently the Windows 10 version 1803 caused frozen screens, crashed computers and other problems which were and are still frustrating to every user.

Microsoft is aware that some devices may hang or freeze and have rolled out a fix, which in itself has caused other problems for some users. They also suggested re-installing Windows 10, as a drastic last resort, to get some computers running again. However, this will remove all non-standard apps, including other Microsoft apps such as Office, so after you’ll have to manually download all of them again. You’ll also lose any data, make sure to back this up if you are able beforehand.

Microsoft said it has fixed the problems with Chrome and “Hey Cortana” freezing. Windows 10 version 1803 is approaching a 'usable' status, but more fixes are still needed.
